Learner’s Guide template launched – and ready!

In early December, 2019, we were very excited to finally launch our Learner’s Guide Template – a guide to help Indigenous people create a community-friendly resource about their own language.

This exciting new resource, funded by the Federal Government’s Indigenous Languages and Arts program, was a two-year project involving many people: Living Languages staff, a reference group comprised of language workers from four different reclamation and revitalisation languages, and many, many others who volunteered their time. The template combines both instructions to the people who may be writing their own learner’s guide, and sample plain English text that can be adapted and used in their final publication.

Those of us who worked on this ambitious project are very excited to be finally making it available. You can find out more about the template, and request access, here. Living Languages trainers can also incorporate the template into our training workshops, for communities who would like support to create their learners’ guide. Find out more about our training here.
